RalphsValve's tweets do seem to align with Microsoft president Brad Smith's previous comments about how he wanted to bring the Call of Duty series to the Nintendo Switch. Smith made these comments shortly after Microsoft announced its plans to acquire Call Of Duty developer Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion in January 2022. At this time he also confirmed that despite Microsoft owning the franchise, future releases would remain multi-platform, and would not become Xbox or PC exclusives. This would make Modern Warfare Remastered the first Call Of Duty title to appear on the Nintendo Switch, which sparked some doubt in the thread, with other Twitter users such as jellomaster00 pointing out that " the game is around 75 GB, how will that work?" This large file size could indicate a Cloud-based release much like Hitman 3 or Control's releases on the Nintendo Switch however, as this is all currently a rumor, nothing has been confirmed. On top of this, he posted that " is supposedly coming to Nintendo Switch". The rumors of Modern Warfare Remastered's impending Switch release came from known Call Of Duty leaker RalphsValve (via NintendoLife), via his Twitter account, where he posted news of Activision looking to remaster earlier titles in the series, naming World at War, Call of Duty 1 & 2, and backwards compatibility for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered as the games being actively discussed.
